Ms. Marling has had me both swooning and sobbing for weeks over this song and I think it’s about time I spread the sentiment.  You’d better have  a hankie handy before pressing play.  And if you happen to dig this young British prize, I suggest you check out her new album, “I Speak Because I Can” which has rightfully made Entertainment Weekly’s Top 10 albums of 2010.

On Friday evening, our friend Andrew took us to see Belle and Sebastian at The Wang Theatre in Boston. It was his wedding present to us, and it was magical from the moment we stepped foot inside the gilded vestibule. Belle and Sebastian sounded every bit as crisp and clear as they do on their recordings. Within minutes of the band taking the stage, the entire crowd was on its feet and didn’t sit until the final bow.

Highlights of the evening included Stuart Murdoch, Stuart Murdoch, and Stuart Murdoch. OK, OK, Mick was freaking adorable, too. Anyway, highlights — Stuart applied eye makeup to a female audience member’s eyes; the band threw footballs out to the wee members of the audience (a nod to their aging hipster fanbase); and finally, my favorite, Stuart ran straight up the aisle in our direction! I ran out to greet him and damn it, if he didn’t look the other way.

I love this Indie Rock Coloring Book from Target’s Red Hot Shop. Montreal based Yellow Bird Project created this coloring book with illustrations and activities from artist Andy J. Miller. With tributes to various bands and 100% of royalties going to charity, this coloring book is a worthy purchase for any aged hipster.

Go ahead, say it — WOW! The new Breakbot video for “Baby I’m Yours” is composed of approximately 2,000 watercolor paintings. It was directed – rather handmade — by Irina Dakeva from WIZZ.

YES is a London-based art studio with a unique approach toward typography and image making. These hand-printed serigraphs are from a series of original artwork created for the now defunct British band The Stands. If you’re interested, they’re still available for purchase through the Web site.
