five modern menorahs for the festival of lights.

November 30th, 2010 · No Comments

Growing up my best friend was Jewish, so naturally, this meant that I desperately wanted to be Jewish, too. Usually, my desire was greatest when December rolled around and she and her family celebrated Hanukkah. It seemed like the most magical holiday ever — eight days of presents, dreidels, and chocolate gelt! I had no idea it was a minor Jewish holiday, I was just a kid after all.

Because the Festival of Lights starts at tomorrow evening at sunset, here are five modern menorahs that even your bubbe will appreciate.

Utopia Man/Woman Menorah, Jonthan Adler, $295

Modern Menorah, $100, ABC carpet & home

Areaware Menorah, designed by Josh Owen, $150

Last Match Menorah Oil Lamp by Kathleen Walsh for Walteria Living, $240

Menorah Bold, designed by Roderick Vos for Mooooi, $382
