30 years after opening his first New York gallery in 1979, Larry Gagosian goes retail. Tonight is the soft opening for his first shop Gagosian — a 2,500 square foot, bi-level space, located on Madison Avenue. The outpost features a video art projection wall; a reading lounge; and of course specially selected art and design objects; wallpaper; special edition posters; books; catalogs; furniture; and limited editions by Tom Friedman, Jeff Koons, Marc Newson, Richard Prince, Ed Ruscha, and other world-renowned artists. But wait there’s more! Located in the lower level of Gagosian, Other Criteria (run by Damien Hirst, Hugh Allen, and Frank Dunphy, with creative director Jason Beard) will open its first — and only — US location. So what are you waiting for? Get thee to Gagosian!

ADDRESS: 988 Madison Avenue @ 77th Street, NYC
SHOP HOURS: Monday–Saturday: 10:00 a.m.–6:30 p.m.
